Gaming News January 1, 2010

The extremely popular and critically-acclaimed "Modern Warfare: 2" has accomplished much since 2009, which is a good and a bad thing. It sold the most games in a single month last year, but was also was one of the most pirated games of the year as well (information from Cnet News). Hopefully Infinity Ward will do something about this quickly, or else the number of illegal downloads of this game will be identical to the number of those that have actually actually have been purchased legally, which will put an extremely large dent in their wallets.

In other news, Microsoft might allow those who love playing Halo to actually play it on the go. Apparently, they might let people play Xbox Live-Compatible games on their their mobile device, Windows Mobile. They are obviously trying to rival the PSP (PlayStation Portable) and the Nintendo DS (Dual Screen), which will take some catching up to do while the Nintendo DS sales are over 100 million units now, and PSP sales, which are over 50 million.

That concludes our gaming news for today. Happy New Year, everyone!

Gaming News 11/18/09

Xbox 360 owners who are fans of Twitter and Facebook are in luck. They can now update their Facebook profiles directly from their Xbox 360, or if they want can Tweet about lunch. The Xbox can now also play music from the internet site Last.fm. The PS3 has also added a few similar things as well by letting gamers use the new software upgrade for the Playstation to use Twitter and Facebook. Even though Playstation owners were already able to do this, the upgrade allows them to share their achievements as Facebook updates. The PS3 has also added Netflix, which the X360 has had for a while. Even though these companies have vastly improved their product more, the Nintendo Wii is still the leading competitor.

In other news, the very well-reviewed "No More Heroes" is going to be ported to the X360 and PS3 in 2010, where "No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle" is going to be arriving on Wii. "No More Heroes" is considered to be one of the Wii's best titles, which hopefully means that the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions will be as great, if not better.
Also, Nintendo is going to be showing some compatible games at next year's E3 Convention for the Wii Vitality Sensor. Now they're just running out of ideas. And also expected at the E3 next year will be the reveal to a new Zelda release for the Wii, which should be very exciting (it's Zelda, c'mon).
